 RADEL R Polyphenylsulfone

Chemical Structure

RADEL R Structure

Key features

  • Excellent thermal properties : HDT 207°C
  • Withstands thousands of exposures to steam sterilization
  • Best chemical resistance among amorphous resins
  • Exceptional toughness and impact resistance

Applications

  • Membranes (gas separation …)
  • Sterilizable surgical trays and containers
  • Aircraft cabin interior components
  • Hot water fittings

RADEL R polyphenylsulfone gives an extra margin of toughness and heat distortion temperature. Its superior chemical resistance extends even to certain chlorinated hydrocarbons. It shows the best chemical resistance of the amorphous polymers.

In its natural and unmodified form Tg = 220°C; HDT at 1.8 MPa = 207°C
