The Global Membrane Team (G.M.T) was created in March 2001 to answer the needs and wants of membrane producers by offering a wide portfolio of engineering polymers and global technical and commercial support.

This was a SOLVAY Corporate decision due to the fact we predict that the membrane markets will be key in the environmental chain for the years to come, and we think that we have the most appropriate materials range in our portfolio.

Our vision is to be recognized as the leading supplier of engineered polymers and the source of innovative product ideas and solutions for polymeric membranes in selected applications and market segments.

Our GMT has the mission to promote the use of our products, help our Customers / Prospects to develop new applications and address their issues in the global membrane markets.

In addition, we concentrate our efforts on understanding our Customers’ markets and value chain in order to create and capture value for all parties in the value chain.

We provide dedicated sales and technical service to our Partners in the membrane industry through our understanding of their unique needs and wants.

What do we do?

We produce sulfone (UDEL® PSF polysulfone / RADEL® A PES polyethersulfone / RADEL® R PPSU polyphenylsulfone), and fluoropolymers (SOLEF® PVDF Polyvinylidene Fluoride) thermoplastic resins that are well suited for porous membranes fabrication (such as hollow fibers, spiral wound, plate-type and tubular membranes) for various filtration applications:

• Water treatment (potable water, and wastewater)
• Medical purification (hemodialysis, blood, proteins and pharmaceutical)
• Gas separation
• Miscellaneous like Food & Beverages concentration (alcohol, wine, fruit juice, sugar and raw beet juice), Dairy filtration.

For filtration techniques like UltraFiltration (UF), MicroFiltration (MF), Electro-Dialysis (ED), NanoFiltration (NF), and Reverse Osmosis (RO), Sulfone polymers and PVDF resins are the materials of choice.
