In general
-
More than 20 years of successful use in the membrane industry.
-
Vast accumulated research knowledge in the use of polysulfone in open and patent literature.
-
Low levels of insolubles, extractables and insoluble gels.
-
FDA and other agency approvals (like EC Directives, NSF 61,…).
-
Research and Development team at your service to answer your needs and specific requirements.
Chemical Resistance
-
Stable to wide pH levels (from 2 to 13) and therefore can withstand many types of membrane cleaning methods.
-
Good resistance to oxidizing agents such as aqueous chlorine, and bleach.
-
Fairly good chemical resistance allowing feeds containing various contaminants.
-
Soluble in water-soluble industrial solvents that are suitable for membrane manufacturing.
-
Good hydrolytic stability allowing long term use of the membranes.
-
Good oxidative stability allowing long term use of the membranes.

Membrane Manufacturing
-
Easy membrane manufacturing.
-
Allows reproducible formation of good quality membranes with sufficient flux and fiber strength.
-
Forms membranes with different pore sizes, with proper choice of pore formers, viscosity and gelation conditions.
-
Provides stable polysulfone solution viscosities even in the presence of air.
-
Highest molecular weight grade, Polysulfone UDEL® P-3500 NT, is ideal in terms of solution viscosity and fiber strength; Formation of lower cyclic dimer solution is now possible with new UDEL® P-3500 NT LCD.
